Construction of new steam and electric generation facility within an existing structure at Howard University. Full scope across two work orders includes
- New service utilities run throughout site
- Installation of micropile foundations and SOE for deep excavations
- New Translucent wall panel (Windows) installation.
- Earthwork including excavation, backfilling, grading and asphalt paving
- Concrete work including shuttering, reinforcement steel, pouring, concrete repair and core drilling
- Demo work: steel, concrete , bricks, etc
- UST and storm tech systems installation
- Drywall , brick and CMU walls
- Paint, coating and internal finishing work
- Doors and frame installations
- Grouting and flooring work
- Steel structural work and secondary steel support
- Roofing and waterproofing
- Fence installation
- Fire protection system
- All required scaffolding rigging, lifting and storage activities associated with the aforementioned works
Project is located among several buildings including dormitories and classrooms, and is therefore subject to heavy foot and road traffic, requiring significant safety control. The building is being restored to maintain historic requirements as determined by Howard University.
